Hokkaido: Jeev Milkha Singh missed four shots in a span of four holes on second nine and dropped to an one over 72 for tied 44th after the first round of the Mynavi ABC Championship on Japan Tour, here.
Jeev, who has been battling injuries and indifferent form and is playing in Japan to keep his card for 2014, was two-under through the first nine after starting on the tenth.
He had birdies on 10th, 13th and 15th and one bogey on 12th. On the second nine, he birdied first to go three-under, but then bogeyed the fourth and seventh and double bogeyed the fifth and finished at 72.
Yuta Ikeda of Japan took the lead with a commanding eight-under 63 and was one shot clear of Keiichiro Fukabori, who carded 64. Yuki Kono and Hideto Tanihara were tied third with rounds of 66 each.
