Metro Rail: Kerala Team visits Sonia, Sreedharan

KOCHI: A team led by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Union Minister K V Thomas and Kochi Corporation Mayor Tony Chammany met UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday and held discussions on the Kochi Metro Rail Project. Sonia has extended her support to the project.The team met Delhi Metro Rail Corporation managing director E Sreedharan. Though Sreedharan discussed about the advantages and need for such a project in the city, he did not go into details on the specifications regarding the project. The team will meet Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi on Wednesday.
