Maoists ransack bus, services cancelled

JEYPORE: Narayanpatna has been cut off from the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh for the past two days with the lone bus on the route being cancelled by the authorities following Maoist threats.Report said, Maoists ransacked an APSRTC bus plying between Narayanpatna and Parvatipuram in Andhra Pradesh about two days back demanding that Maoist leader Damdor be immediately produced in court. He was reportedly arrested by police near Dandabadi, about 12 km from Narayanpatna. They have threatened to damage government properties. Posters addressed to the police were also found in different areas of Boipariguda block. This lone bus has been the connecting link between Narayanpatna and Parvatipuram for the last 20 years.  The locals now have to travel to Bandhugam before taking a bus for Narayanpatna.
