New Delhi: A major fire broke out on Monday at Lok Nayak Bhawan which is next to Central Delhi's Khan Market.
The fire reportedly started on the fourth floor of the building. Officials from the fire department say they had received a call around 4pm about smoke coming out of an air conditioning unit. The fire then spread through the fourth floor. The building also houses the offices of the Enforcement Directorate, Central Bureau of Investigation and the Income Tax Department.
The fire department has rushed 25 fire engines to douse the fire. The department is apparently going to rush more engines there. Firemen reportedly have managed to evacuated all people who were initially trapped in the building. There are no reports of any casualties.

A witness told CNN-News18 that the fire broke out AT 3.30 PM. Three heavy lift cranes of the fire department have also been deployed to douse the flames. Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit to be the cause of the fire.
"The fire has been contained to the fourth floor. There were some people trapped by blaze who we have managed to pull out of there. the fire is now under control, though not extinguished completely yet," A fireman said.
The fire was still raging when the last reports came in.
