Let Parliament decide on Telangana
Let Parliament decide on Telangana

CPM state secretary B V Raghavulu on Wednesday demanded that UPA government settle the Telangana state issue in the coming parliament session.

Addressing a press conference here, the senior party leader observed that the satet political parties were unable to express a clear-cut stand on Telangana and on the other side the Centre has failed in achieving a  consensus over the issue. In It was better that the government refer the issue to the parliament where final decision would be taken according to the majority opinion of the House.  He said that when the Congress was facing unending political crisis, they utilised the Telangana issue and distracted people from the innumerous scams in which their top leaders were involved. “It is not behaving as a responsible political party,” he said. He questioned why the Congress leaders from all the regions of the state repeatedly failed in mounting pressure on their party high command in taking a quick decision on the issue. He asked as to in what capacity APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana was supporting the statehood demand?

He took strong objection to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s comments who said that the state should not be divided considering ‘political reasons’. Raghavulu said that Kiran Reddy made such comments because he does not know anything about politics.
