Lankan woman arrested

CHENNAI: A Sri Lankan national who is believed to have migrated from the Emerald Isle to Chennai over 15 years ago was arrested while trying to fly to Lanka on Tuesday.  Geetha (35), hailing from a village in  Colombo, arrived in TN and had settled in Chennai. During this period, she had married Murugan and the couple had been living at Saligramam. Earlier this year, the woman is believed to have expressed a desire to return to her native village and as such, the husband reportedly initiated the process of getting her an Indian passport. Using his ration card, Geetha allegedly obtained a passport.
