THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Electricity Board will open a Trouble Call Management Centre here within 100 days for dealing with service-related complaints, Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed has said on Monday.Announcing the 100-day programmes of the Power Department at a meet-the-press programme of the Press Club, he said that consumers can SMS their complaints to the centre, which in turn would contact the electrical section offices concerned. The grievance redressal will be monitored by the centre. The telephone number of the centre will be announced shortly, the Power Minister said.“The KSEB will also launch Trouble Management Systems in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode to address complaints,” he said.‘Akshaya Energy Marts’ are planned at the block and municipality-levels for making available energy-efficient equipment such as solar lamps.  The first mart will be opened within 100 days.The government will launch the ‘Energy Smart School’ scheme to promote energy conservation initiatives among school children. A joint initiative of the KSEB and the Energy Management Centre, the initiative is aimed at students from Class V to Class X.Three cash prizes of Rs 500, Rs 300 and Rs 200 will be given to students who top in reducing energy consumption in their homes.The school topping the energy conservation initiatives at the district-level will be rewarded Rs 25,000 and the school at the state-level, Rs 1 lakh.The KSEB will provide 50,000 connections within 100 days, settling applications submitted up to March 31, 2011, the Minister said.In a bid to meet the demand for electric poles, the KSEB will open its own pole-casting yard at Edayar. Work on the project will begin in 100 days.The Minister announced that the Centre has sanctioned the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyuthikaran Yojana (RGGVY) project for the seven southern districts also.In the first phase, six districts in the north and Idukki were included in the scheme.Within 100 days, the Kerala State Electricity Board will start work for obtaining ISO certification for two of its biggest hydel power generation stations - Moolamattam and Moozhiyar.The KSEB will also draw 1000 kms of 11 KV lines, install 1,500 transformers and upgrade 2,000 kms of single-phase lines into three-phase, the Minister said. In a bid to streamline transmission, work on four 110 KV sub-stations and six 33 KV sub-stations will be completed, he said.
