Jaya demands roll back of diesel, LPG prices

CHENNAI: Strongly condem­ning the hike in the prices of diesel, LPG and kerosene, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday demanded a roll back, as it would affect all sections of society, which are already battling price rise.In an official release here, Jayalalithaa said oil marketing companies have often been increasing the price of petroleum, as the Centre has given them the right to determine the prices. The CM said that besides the direct impa­ct of the hike in LPG and kerosene prices, the public would now be fa­ced with the cascadin­g  effect of the diesel price hike, which would raise freight rates and make commoditi­es, especially vegetables, costlier.
