James Foley honoured for bravery by US Institute of Peace
James Foley has been honoured by the US Institute of Peace with an award for his bravery.

Washington: James Foley, the first US citizen to be beheaded by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) has been honoured by the US Institute of Peace with an award for his bravery on Friday.

Foley's parents accepted the Oxi Day award on his behalf. The award was created to celebrate the legacy of Greece's Prime Minister during World War Two who had refused to surrender to Adolf Hitler.

ISIS had released a gruesome video that showed the beheading of US journalist James Foley. James Foley was kidnapped in 2012 during the Syrian Civil war. Before behaeding Foley read a message saying that is 'real killer' is America.
