HYDERABAD: Beleaguered YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday wrote to the Prime Minister and the chief election commissioner to prevent a possible arrest by the CBI.After expressing his apprehensions at an election rally at Jammalamadaka in Guntur district in the afternoon, Reddy dashed off separate letters to the two dignitaries, saying he had definite information that a conspiracy was being hatched to arrest him and create lawlessness and anarchy. Then he would be blamed for the violence and showing violence as an excuse the government would seek postponement of the byelections scheduled for June 12.The Kadapa MP, in his letters, said that the Congress government in the state was doing all this since it knew it could not face him in the byelections. Alleging that the chief minister, the TDP chief and the CBI were conspiring to arrest him, he said, “I have definite information on who is involved in this conspiracy and the purpose for which they are resorting to this.”Jagan said AICC emissary Vayalar Ravi, chief minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, the CBI joint director and the DGP held a secret meeting recently and discussed his arrest. “I have information that the CBI is planning to arrest me in the next three or four days,” he said.Jagan said he was to appear before a CBI judge on May 28 but the DGP had given secret instructions to the police to block all roads leading to Hyderabad a day in advance. The DGP’s office dismissed Jagan’s claim that Dinesh Reddy met Ravi.
