The Delhi Police on Tuesday said that there seems to be no foul play in the death of Jabalpur medical college dean Dr Arun Sharma, who headed the college's committee to investigate fake doctors appointed through Vyapam.
Talking to mediapersons, Delhi Police commissioner B S Bassi said that the post-mortem report of the college dean was inconclusive, but a final report on the same was still awaited.
"We are satisfied with the line of investigation, do not see anything suspicious as of now. We will be able to comment only after our investigation is complete," said Bassi.
A medical board had been constituted at the Safdarjung Hospital to conduct the post-mortem of the deceased dean.
The investigators had on Monday found six-seven medicines from the hotel room where the dean was found dead. According to sources, medicines for glaucoma and blood pressure were found the room. Pexep, a variation of Alprax was also recovered.
Bassi had on Monday said, "Our crime team had inspected the site where the incident took place and a CFSL team had done the same. So no evidence went unnoticed."
The Delhi Police chief had said that police was in touch with Sharma's family as well for background check to make sure that there were no shortcomings in the investigation. CCTV footage was also being scanned, he said.
"We are in touch with the family of the deceased to see whether there are possibilities of foul play. We want to assure everyone that Delhi police will leave no stone unturned to bring out the truth," he said.
Sharma, who was said to be probing fake examinees in the Vyapam scam, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel in south-west Delhi's Dwarka on Sunday.
