Kuala Lumpur: An Indian diplomat in Malaysia has been recalled barely three months after being posted there.
RKT Arasu, Second Secretary in the Mission was recalled for misusing his position to falsely promise jobs to illegal Indian immigrants.
However,no one in the Indian High Commission has spoken on record about the incident and Indian High Commissioner, R L Narayan refused to comment on the subject when questioned.
Arasu is expected to take voluntary retirement from service following the incident.
Two weeks ago, immigration authorities had rounded up nearly 60 Indian labourers camping outside the High Commission and put them in a detention centre until they could be repatriated.
