NEDUMBASSERY: The entry of visitors to airport terminals and gallery of Cochin International Airport has been banned from Friday to August 20 owing to the possibility of terror attacks in the wake of Independence Day celebrations, Airport Director A C K Nair has said.The security arrangements at the airport and on its premises have been stepped up on the basis of the directive of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. The vehicles approaching the airport will be checked thoroughly. The passengers and their luggage will be checked thoroughly.Ladder point frisking would be introduced by all airlines as a secondary check.The staff of the various airlines, department agencies and the CIAL will be checked at the entry point. CCTVs will be operating round the clock with its cameras installed at strategic points.
