HYDERABAD: Fourth time in a row, students from the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) qualified for the world finals of ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). Teams from IIIT Hyderabad and IIT Delhi made it to the 18th spot in the finals held at Warsaw, Poland between May 14 and 18. The winning team from St. Petersburg State University from Russia clinched the title. The four-member team from IIIT-H includes three students and one professor to coach the team members.The students are from different streams in IIIT-H. Anish Shankar is a student of B.Tech second year in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at IIIT pursuing his internship at Google headquarters at Mountain View, California. Another team member, Kunal Jain completed his B. Tech and will be joining Facebook office in California in July while the third student Nadeem Moidu will be joining him for his internship before the academic session for his final year in the CSE dual degree programme begins. Coach and Professor Vikram Pudi heads research in the field of Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence.The team called TuringMachine was one among the five Indian teams which made it to the world finals of ACM ICPC. The contest which is considered the largest for computer programming in the world, gives a chance to teams from 2000 universities across 80 countries to send the winners of the regional qualifiers into the world final round.
