THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Forest Minister K B Ganesh Kumar on Friday apologised for his derogatory comments against V S Achuthanandan. He told reporters that he was withdrawing the statement and also apologizing to VS as well as the public for the remarks he had made at a public function at Pathanapuram.“I was speaking in front of my home crowd and I was carried away by its enthusiasm. Due to the emotion, I spoke something bad against the Opposition Leader who is of the age of my great-grandfather. I shouldn’t have made such statements and am ready to apologise for what I said,’’ he said.“VS has been haunting my family for the past 20 years. I kept silent when he spoke badly about my jailed father. How long can one be silent? Every one saw how an MLA broke down taking his father’s name. I also have a father whom VS has been attacking for decades,’’ he said.
