CHENNAI: A life convict in a murder case, who had been afflicted with HIV and presently lodged in the Central Prison in Salem, has moved the Madras High Court seeking treatment for his disease.A division bench comprising Justice C Nagappan and Justice T Sudanthiram, before which the writ petition from C Thamilmani aka Mani aka Periyasamy came up on Thursday, ordered notice to the authorities concerned. The Bench also orally directed the Addl PP to ascertain the availability of a particular drug for HIV in the jail.According to petitioner, he was arrested by the Panamarathupatti police in connection with a murder case in April 2002 .
