The Task Force sleuths on Thursday nabbed a person for carrying a country-made revolver and seized two live cartridges from him. The accused had test-fired three bullets on the outskirts of the city a few days back, police said.
According to additional DCP (Task Force) P Rameshaiah, K Narsing Das Goud alias Pochi ran a video CD shop at Borabanda earlier. In 2006, the accused along with his associates brutally killed a person, namely Nawab Das alias Nani of Borabanda, at Moti Nagar crossroads in a love-affair. One of his associates who helped him purchase the weapon, Akram, is still absconding.
Previously, he had been arrested for possessing four-muzzle loaded guns and was sent to prison along with his associates.
After being released from jail, Pochi and his associates committed snatching in Pahadishareef and KPHB police limits.
Pochi came to know that Nawab Das’s brother, Praveen Das, was trying to eliminate him in retaliation to his brother’s killing and attacked Praveen Das with swords.
Praveen Das, however, escaped the attempt on his life. Later, Pochi was arrested twice for possessing arms and snatching cases.
In January this year, Pochi was released and came to know that the family members of Nawab Das engaged Borabanda Wahed, a history-sheeter of Kukkatpally police station, to eliminate him.
To protect his life, Pochi sought the help of Akram, a native of Bihar, in securing the firearm.
They went to Bharni village in Bihar and purchased a country-made revolver and five rounds from a person for Rs 15,000.
Few months back, Pochi fired three rounds in air at Tukkuguda to test them, and kept the remaining two rounds to eliminate his rivals.
Pochi along with the seized weapon and bullets was handed over to the SR Nagar police for further investigation.
