BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday refused to extend the stay on further court proceedings against Lenin Karuppan, former associate of self-styled godman Swami Nityananda, and posted it for final hearing to September 28.The single-judge Bench of Justice B V Pinto refused to extend the stay on further court proceedings against Lenin. The High Court on August 4 had stayed the proceedings of the case till September 16.A lower court in Ramanagaram had taken cognizance of the offence against Lenin and others based on a private complaint filed by actress Ranjitha, accusing him and his two associates of outrage, extortion and acts intended to insult her modesty and dent her public image.
