Speaking to Express, HMDA officials said that they would engage transaction advisory consultant through competitive selection process for preparation of the project details, financial modelling on PPP mode. The selected developer would design, finance, construct, engineer, operate and maintain the project during a predefined concession period and transfer all the project assets in full working condition to the authority.

The HMDA Executive Committee which met few days ago approved the proposals for engaging the transaction advisory consultant. They said that HMDA’s aim is to develop an integrated physical environment in which various professions and institutions dealing with different facets of habitat and habitat related environmental issues would function, interact and attempt to resolve habitat related problems in a coordinated manner.

One of the other main aims would be promoting awareness with regard to habitat related environmental issues including water, air, noise and waste pollution, energy and its conservation, water and human waste management and other such matters besides promoting better urban and rural settlements relevant to the Indian social, cultural and economic context. It would also promote education, research, training and professional development on habitat and human settlement and environment related issues by organising conferences, seminars, lectures, public debates and exhibitions.
