The Hayatnagar police on Thursday arrested three persons including a GHMC employee in connection with the chain snatching cases. Police also seized 20 tola of gold ornaments and four and half tola of fake gold chains from their possession.
According to police, the accused obtained loan amount by putting stolen gold ornaments in the Mutthoot Finance Company. Hayatnagar inspector G Srinivas Kumar said that police intercepted the vehicle when the accused were moving under suspicious circumstances at Lecturers Colony and shifted them to the police station.
During the interrogation, the trio confessed that they were involved in 12 chain snatching offences in the Hayatnagar police station limits.
The accused have been identified as Gaddam Shiva Kumar (23), employee in Municipal office, Ramanthapur, Gaddam Suresh (22), electrician, resident of Rajendranagar, Sai Prasad (20), employee in Ramoji Film City (RFC), resident of Old Hayathnagar.
