George neednt quit Chief whip post: Chandy

KOCHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that P C George need not resign from the Chief Whip post as demanded by Opposition Leader V S  Achuthanandan. He said that he had no different stand from the party’s stand in this issue. He was responding to Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan’s demand that P C George should resign from the post for misusing the Chief Whip’s post. Chandy added that the Congress and its members have always respected the Judiciary and it will remain the same in the future. P C George had written to President Pratibha Patil seeking action against the Inquiry Commissioner and Special Judge P K Haneef for ordering further investigation into the Palmolein case.
