CHENNAI: A day after announcing four hour load shedding to facilitate the linking of the three 500 MW units of the Vallur thermal plant to the grid, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has decided to postpone it. In a press release on Monday evening, the TNEB said the load shedding proposed in most parts of the city and its suburbs for one hour once every four hours in rotation now stands cancelled. The proposed move to link the Vallur thermal plant to the grid would have resulted in the city facing a power shortage between June 21 and June 30.
