Bijapur: The Chhattisgarh Police have nabbed four Maoists during a raid in Bijapur in Chhattisgarh. Some arms, ammunition and literature have also been recovered from a Maoist hideout.
The arrested Maoists have been identified as Oyami Chinmaya, Mudium Supari, Phontru and Sukhram.
The police also clashed with the Maoists during another search operation in the region. The cross-firing lasted for over an hour but the ultras managed to escape.
Rajendra Narayan Das, Superintendent of Police of Bijapur, said: "Around 7 am, somewhere between Baghbar and Kakori Bara, the clash between police personnel and the Maoists started. We fired around 50 to 60 rounds but the Maoists managed to escape from the spot. We recovered some backpacks, some bombs, detonators and some Maoist literature."
