Foggy morning in Delhi, North India reels under cold wave
According to Northern Railway, as many as 39 trains coming to Delhi were running behind schedule.

New Delhi: There is no respite from cold wave in the North India. The national capital woke up to a dense fog cover on Friday morning with the minimum temperature settling two notches below average at 5 degrees Celsius. The Met department has forecast a clear day ahead.

"The day will remain clear though moderate fog was witnessed in the morning," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

Only one runway has been in operation due to zero visibility at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. However, there have been no delays or cancellations so far.

According to Northern Railway, as many as 39 trains coming to Delhi were running behind schedule. Three trains from here were rescheduled.

The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius. Thursday's maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 18 degrees Celsius (three notches below average) and 6.5 degrees Celsius (one notch below average).

The temperature in Delhi remains at a moderate 6 degrees Celsius. Shimla is at a freezing 0.7 degrees Celsius and temperatures in Amritsar too are at 1 degree. Temperature in Srinagar is at 2 degrees due to the heavy snowfall that the town saw on Thursday.
