BANGALORE: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) held a dialogue with a Japanese delegation over to implement International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with the intention of forging a Japan India strategic and global partnership in the city on Wednesday.
After the dialogue, the ICAI President G Ramaswamy said, "This dialogue will pave way for exchange of views on legal, regulatory and other issues arising out of application of or convergence with the IFRS for establishing cooperative relationship between India and Japan in various fields, addressing critical issues related to application of the IFRS and for promoting accountability in the profession." Nariaki Shimazaki, one of the members of the Japanese delegation, said that the dialogue would promote foreign direct investment besides being the beginning of exchange of knowledge in the field of accounting between India and Japan.
