New Delhi: Jabalpur police arrested five activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India on Thursday.
The five arrested have been identified as Sarfaraz, Mohammad Yunus, Gayasuddin, Shafiq and Nazeer Ansari, police officials said.
The arrests followed the leads given by the 13 SIMI leaders who were earlier arrested in Indore.
In a related development the Indore police has also got permission to get narco analysis done on three SIMI leaders - Safdar Nagori, Qamaruddin Nagori and Amir Pervez.
Meanwhile, three more persons, including a woman, were arrested on Friday for allegedly renting their premises to the SIMI leaders in Indore and Khargone.
The Shyam Nagar residence in Indore was taken by SIMI's Andhra Pradesh unit chief Qamaruddin Nagori from where police arrested top 13 leaders on March 27.
The house rented to them by Gaffar Khan Bakerywale was registered in the name of his daughter-in-law Shahnaz Bi.
Police arrested both Khan and Shahnaz for not providing information to the police about giving their house on rent which is a crime as per the law and is interrogating them.
Qamaruddin, who belongs to Ujjain lived in the Khajrana area of the city earlier, sources said.
In Khargone, one person was arrested for allegedly providing his farm house to the SIMI for running training camps and large number of explosives were recovered on April 2.
The person identified as Shahzad Hussein, belongs to Mhow town of Indore district.
