BANGALORE: Two persons sustained bullet injuries and another three were injured in a brawl between two neighbours in Subramanyapura police limits on Sunday night.In the melee, one Srinath sustained three bullet injuries on his legs while one Abeeb sustained two bullet injuries on his leg. Police have arrested nine people regarding the incident and recovered the two guns from which the bullets were fired.Police said the fight started when Munivenkatappa, a resident of Doddakallasandra, started hurling abuses at his son, who came home drunk at 10.30 pm.The father-son took their altercation to the road. Disturbed by the noise, their neighbour Devaraju, a realtor, came out of his house and asked the duo to stop quarrelling as it was disturbing his sleep.Police said this led to fisticuffs between the two parties.Soon associates and relatives of both the families joined the fight, throwing chilli powder and attacking with lethal weapons.Devaraju’s relatives Madhusudhan and Nagaraj sustained injuries in the melee.As the situation was going out of hands, Devaraju’s gunman Manjunath opened fire and the bullets struck Munivenktappa’s aides Srinath and Abeeb.Police have arrested Munivenkatappa, his two aides, Devaraju, his two aides and three other persons. Police have registered a case and investigations are on.Police said there was ill will between the neighbours over a murder case, which added to the intensity of their fight on Sunday. On October 10, 2006, the then president of Thurahalli Gram Panchayat was hacked to death. He was Devaraju’s relative.Rowdy sheeter Srinivas was an accused in the case.He is an aide of Munivenkatappa.The murder led to enmity between Devaraju and Munivenkatappa.
