New Delhi: A major blaze erupted at the Keshopur vegetable market in West Delhi on Thursday at around 10:40 am.
"Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. It was finally brought under control at 11.20 am," AK Sharma, chief of Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said.
No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. The fire broke out in vehicles carrying vegetables. Keshopur is one of the biggest vegetable markets in the national capital and is situated on the outer ring road. The market area is full of hustle and bustle and attracts a lot of trucks from Harayana and Punjab. Despite the size of the market it lacks basic fire safety arrangements.
The Fire department will soon conduct an enquiry into the cause of the fire and submit a report.
