London has a special package to unveil the city's romantic potential.

London: A Leap Year is a romantic year in the UK and keeping with one of London's most quirky traditions, February 29 is the date on which women can propose to men.

So 'Visit London', the official visitor organisation for London, has put on a special package to unveil the romantic potential of the city and highlight its most lovable sites and venues.

London, it says, has world-class attractions to hidden, intimate corners calling out just to the two of you.

Some of the places where the tradition of women proposing to men can be carried out on February 29 include the London Eye, which offers a romantic voyage and gaze across the unparalleled views of central London as your own private glass capsule climbs to the sky.

Or, couples may walk hand-in-hand into London's historic past beside the Tower of London; wander across Tower Bridge and along the South Bank for panoramic views of the City; share a romantic kiss at the Houses of Parliament as Big Ben chimes and amble down the aisle at Westminster Abbey, the scene of fairytale weddings.

For couples wanting to mark the occasion amidst peace and tranquillity, they can head to one of London's magnificent public parks; hire a boat on the Serpentine in Hyde Park and whisper sweet nothings to each other; stand arm-in-arm and take in the unrivalled views of the capital from the top of

Primrose Hill or enjoy the thrill of flying a kite on Parliament Hill.

And come the night, London's bustling nightlife offers a vast array of world cuisine.BLUR_BBLUR_B
