Based on Srinivas’ complaint, police tracked Raji Reddy through his mobile phone at Warangal. With the assistance of Warangal police, both were being brought to Hyderabad.

A few years ago Prabhakar had borrowed `10 lakh cash from Raji was unable to return the same due to crop failure. Raji started pressurising him to return the money, because of which Prabhakar left his village.

On Monday, Prabhakar, along with Srinivas, came to the city on some personal work. They got down from the bus at Uppal cross roads and Raji, who was waiting at a nearby bus stop with his friends, saw him. “Raji Reddy immediately caught Prabhakar and forcibly took him away to an undisclosed location in their vehicle. Based on the complaint, we booked a kidnapping case under section 365,” Uppal inspector K Lakshmikanta Reddy said.
