The inaugural function for this year’s ISA Students’ Section and Students’ Society of EIE was hosted recently by the Electronics and Instrumentation Department of Easwari Engineering College. The annual reports for the societies were read out by Gunaselvi Manohar, and R Lakshmi.
The action plan for the year 2012-2013 of both the societies was read out by the respective student president.
The inaugural address on ‘Automation’ was delivered by S Vijayaraghavan, president, ISA, South India section.
An informative lecture on ‘e-governance’ was given by the guest of honour E Iniyanehru, senior technical director, National Informatics Centre, Chennai. This lecture was highly informative to all the students and teachers present at the venue. The staff and students were welcomed by the EIE HOD, N S Bhuvaneswari, and the programme was presided by principal Dr Jothimohan Balasubramaniam.
The dignitaries were felicitated by Dr R Narayanasamy, director, Ramapuram campus and Dr K Kathiravan,vice principal.
Chief guest, B Sai Ramesh, president - Soind and GM – Technip India Pvt Ltd, inaugurated the societies and delivered the Keynote address. The guest of honour, S Vijayaraghavan, president- elect, ISA, gave an insight about the technical requirements of budding instrumentation engineers. He also enlightened those gathered about what an integral cog to society, these brand of engineers can be. The presidential address was delivered by Dr K Abdul Ghani, principal, Easwari Engineering College. Dr K Kathiravan, the Vice Principal of Easwari Engineering College felicitated the function.
