TTD has made dress code mandatory for the devotees at the time of offering harathi to the deities during the time of procession on all the days of Brahmothsavams, TTD executive officer LV Subramanyam has said.
Reviewing arrangements for the upcoming Brahmotsavams with all officials concerned here on Saturday, he said pilgrims will not be allowed to take harathis of the processional deities with modern and ultra modern outfits. He instructed the engineering staff to arrange Govindanamavali signboards on the ghat roads and advised to keep old Annadanam complex open for pilgrims to stay. He also sought cooperation between police and the TTD security personnel to help the pilgrims.
All new publications and CDs related to TTD will also be released during the brahmotsavams.
The executive officer wanted more number of Srivari Sevaks to be roped into service during the Brahmotsavams to provide drinking water, butter milk and prasadams to devotees sitting in the galleries around Mada streets. He asked the officials concerned to identify parking places for vehicles. He also directed medical officer to open medical aid centres to provide first aid to the needy pilgrims. The Brahmotsavams at Tirumala would be held twice this year.
Navaratri Brahmotsavam would he held from oct 15 to 23.This year adhika masa Salakatla Brahmotsavams will also be celebrated from September 18 to 26. Joint executive officer K Srinivasa Raju, Tirupati urban SP J Prabhakara Rao, CVSO Vijay kumar, chief engineer Chandra Sekhar Reddy and others were present at the meeting.
