Diaspora to help Indian nurses reach home
An Air India flight from Erbil in Kurdistan will ferry the nurses to Kochi on Saturday morning.

Thiruvananthapuram: Roots-Norka, the state agency for the Kerala diaspora, will transfer the 46 nurses returning from Iraq on Saturday from the Cochin airport to their homes, the government said on Friday.

The nurses was freed on Friday afternoon by Sunni insurgents and handed over to Indian diplomats on the Iraq-Kurdistan border.

An Air India flight from Erbil in Kurdistan will ferry the nurses to Kochi on Saturday morning.

P. Sudip, the Roots-Norka chief executive, said "A dozen Innova vehicles have been hired to drop these nurses at their homes in the state. There is one nurse who is from Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu. We have booked a ticket for her on a train."
