BANGALORE:Jaiprakash Singh, who had opened  five rounds of bullets from his licenced US made pistol, and created panic among residents of Dasarahalli on Monday night was arrested by Amruthahalli police. Investigations revealed that he had planned to kill his friends for not inviting him to puja at Kashi Vishwanatha temple in Dasarahalli. He had reportedly made donations for the renovation of the temple.Police said that the accused was irked with his friends Lokanath and Anil Kumar Chobey for not inviting him for the special puja on Shivaratri. Angered by this, he had allegedly conspired to eliminate the friends duo and went to the temple. He met Gondha Lal, who worked at the steel shop owned by Lokanath.The accused allegedly told Lal that he would shoot Lokanath and Chobey and assaulted Lal.“In a fit of rage, he opened five rounds creating panic among the devotees. Later, he escaped in his Toyota Qualis (KA-03-MD-1440). Three special teams were formed and he was nabbed within three hours after the incident was reported,” the police said.The police recovered the US made pistol, six live bullets, three empty cartridges found at the spot, a Qualis vehicle and a belt. Meanwhile, the police also raided his house and seized 12 live bullets that he had purchased to shoot his friends.The Amruthahalli police booked him under the Arms Act, attempt to murder and other charges.
