Crime Branch to record T Nazeers arrest today

KOCHI: The Crime Branch will record the arrest of Thadiyantavide Nazeer, who is lodged in Ernakulam sub-jail, in connection with the robbery case at Kizakkambalam in which two terror suspects K P Shabeer and Ismail alias Bomb Ismail were arrested on Tuesday. The Crime Branch (Organised Crime Wing) approached the NIA Special Court here on Wednesday and obtained permission to arrest Nazeer. “We will record Nazeer’s arrest at the Ernakulam sub-jail on Thursday. “Since the trial of the Kashmir recruitment case is on, he will be taken intocustody only on June 4,” investigation officer Biju K Stephan said.The statement of Nazeer is crucial as he is the one who hatched the robbery plot. “Shabeer and Ismail knew nothing about the money and purpose for which it was used. Only Nazeer can give us such information,” Crime Branch sources said.Meanwhile, the local people in Kizakkambalam gave a grant welcome to the  Crime Branch officials when they brought Shabeer and Ismail for collection of evidence on Wednesday. They organised a meeting and thanked the Crime Branch team for making a breakthrough in the case after 10 years.
