VELLORE: The CPI demands that the state-level Lokayukta nab people involved in corruption at the administrative level in the state, said CPI state secretary, Tha Pandian. He was convening a press meet to announce a state-level conference in Rajapalayam from Feb 17 to 19 and national-level conference from March 27 to 31. The conference in the district took place on Feb 9 and 10.The conferences would bring a resolution to connect the rivers in the South. The conference has also been organised to discuss future plans of the party, he saidDuring the press meet, he demanded a state-level Lokayukta with two regulations: one to seize properties of the accused, and if the persons are found guilty, to give them severe punishment during imprisonment with no special class facilities. He earlier accused the Central Government and its alliance with DMK for the economic crisis. The centre’s objectives have affected the Micro/Small/Medium sectors, cotton mills and farmers in the country, he said. He also accused the centre for providing aid to the Sri Lankan government. Tamils are still kept in camps, he said, which are more concentration camps than rehabilitation.  CPI would try to form an alliance to bring down the Congress-DMK rule in the centre. He also commented that CPI won’t waste its energy and time in the Sankarankovil by-election. This election is just to fill up the gap and winning here will not make any change.Earlier, he said that the quality of activities and discussions held at the assembly had fallen drastically.
