Court rejects Reema, Shilpa petition
Court rejects petition filed by B’wood actresses Reema Sen and Shilpa Shetty, for their obscene photos being published.

Madurai (Tamil Nadu): A local court rejected a petition filed by Bollywood actresses Reema Sen and Shilpa Shetty seeking recall of non-bailable warrants (NBW) issued against them on Friday.

They petition was filed in connection with publication of their "obscene" pictures in a Tamil eveninger.

Judicial Magistrate II, Seetharaman, directed the Commissioner of Police, Madurai, to execute the NBW issued against the actresses and posted the case for further hearing on November 10.

The judge felt that the actresses should have appeared in the court obeying the court's order issued on March 10.

The actresses through their lawyer contended that they were not in a position to come to the court, as they were busy shooting for a film in the United States.

They also claimed that they were not aware of the pictures published in the eveninger without their permission.

Dakshinamoorthy, a city-based advocate, had filed the case against Shetty and Sen besides Murugan, the editor of Tamil Murasu, for publication of the "obscene" pictures.

The advocate contended that the pictures "polluted the minds of youngsters" and demanded action against them under Prevention of Publication of Obscene Pictures Act.

As per the NBW issued by the court on March 10, the actresses had to appear before it On Friday.
