SHIMOGA: Welcoming the verdict of the Lokayukta Court, which remanded former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in judicial custody in a land denotification case, the Congress asserted that this signified the victory of the law of the land and that nobody is above law.KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah, while speaking on the sidelines of a function here on Saturday, said: “The offenders have got their due punishment. The court was convinced about the misuse of power, corruption and nepotism of BS Yeddyurappa when he was the chief minister. That is why the court has rejected his bail plea and issued an arrest warrant,” he added. Even the court had ordered the arrest of former minister Krishnaiah Shetty, he said. There are a number of BJP leaders waiting to go to jail. They are unfit to remain in power. This decision is welcoming and inevitable in view of purification of the worsened politics in the state, he added. He, however, added: “I am not saying this out of any personal enmity or prejudice.”
