Congress on Tuesday dismissed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's remark that Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who complained of uneasiness in Parliament House on Monday, should have been taken to AIIMS in a well-equipped ambulance.

"All arrangements were there. What was considered appropriate by Mrs Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and the medical team, which was attending to her, was done," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath told reporters in New Delhi. Asked whether Modi was trying to politicise the issue, Nath said, "Mr Modi must himself decide what he is trying to do."

Hours after the Congress President was discharged from the hospital, the BJP strongman wished Gandhi the best of health through micro-blogging site Twitter. "Considering her health, Sonia ji should have been taken to hospital in a well-equipped ambulance. Still, doctors are best judges," Modi tweeted.

Gandhi was discharged early on Tuesday from AIIMS where she was admitted after being taken ill on Monday night in Lok Sabha when her pet welfare legislation and UPA's Food Security Bill was in its final stages of adoption.
