CM to launch annadanam in 106 temples

CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will be launching the Annadanam scheme in 106 more temples in addition to the 360 temples where the scheme is already being implemented.The CM will launch the scheme at the Madhavaperumal Temple in Mylapore at 1.35 pm on September 11. Simultaneously, the scheme will be launched in 105 other temples, including Sri Ekambareswarar Temple (Aminjikarai), Sri Bhavani Amman Temple (Periyapalayam), Sri Suyambu Saneeswarar Temple (in Theni district) and Sri Kaliyamman Temple (Kumarapalayam).A separate hundi will be installed for the Annadanam scheme and devotees can donate. Those who wish to offer Annadanam on their birthdays, wedding anniversaries etc., can also pay the money to the temple and engage themselves in the scheme. Around one crore devotees are being benefited by this scheme and by the extension of this scheme to 106 temples, 25 lakh more devotees would be benefited.
