New Delhi: Criminals are getting younger and bolder. Two horrific incidents involving juveniles have come to light which show that children as young as 12 are turning rapist and killers.
A 12-year-old boy has been detained for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Delhi. The incident allegedly took place on Thursday in the government servant quarters in the Tilak Marg area.
The boy was detained by the Tilak Marg police and sent to the juvenile home. The medical reports have confirmed rape.
"The incident took place on June 29. My daughter went missing from 8 to 10:30 PM. We went looking for the girl but could not find her. She came back home herself. At first she was very scared to open her mouth but later she narrated the whole incident to us," said the victim's father.
The other shocking incident happened in Kolkata where two boys - aged 14 and 12 - have been arrested for strangling a five-year-old girl to death after molesting her.
The incident took place on the terrace of a 10-storied building at Turfview, Hastings on Tuesday evening.
The two boys have confessed to their shocking crime when they were questioned by police in the presence of their parents on Thursday.
When five-year-old Jhumjhum Das' body was found, at first, police suspected the involvement of an adult. But the autopsy revealed that the hands that throttled the girl were those of a child.
