THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has alleged that the Central Government and the State Governments have conspired to sabotage the Plachimada Tribunal Bill.Achuthanandan told reporters here on Friday that the conspiracy was to ensure that the bill would not be passed. This was the reason why the Union Home Ministry sent back the bill. He alleged that Home Minister P Chidambaram had earlier functioned as the country director of Coca Cola. He also alleged that Chidambaram’s wife Nalini Chidambaram had represented the Coca Cola in various cases.The Centre is helping the Cola company that had created large scale pollution problems in Plachimada. The Centre is acting as the postman of the Cola company.This was the exact role the Centre had played in the endosulfan issue, he said.On the controversies relating to the Padmanabhaswamy temple, VS said that Uthradom Tirunal Marthanda Varma was just an ordinary citizen like anyone else. He has no special privileges and is bound to obey the law of the land. There are some loyalists to the royal family who did not understand this truth, he said.VS said that it was a former Sreekariyakar of the temple who alleged that the treasures of the temple were stolen earlier. This robbery at the temple has to be stopped.He also pointed out that the CPM was instrumental in taking over the Mudavanmugal Palace from the royal family as it was found to be surplus land. He said that those who supported sex racketeers and corrupt elements were living in a fool’s paradise.
