Badaun: Heavy rains are hampering efforts to exhume the bodies of the two minor girls who were allegedly raped and then hung from a tree in May. Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation has begun reconstructing the crime scene, tying the hangman's noose from the tree where the incident took place.
CBI has also recorded the statement of doctors who conducted the first postmortem and found that they did not have the necessary experience.
The probe agency had questioned the father and the uncle of the murdered girls found inconsistencies in their statements. The victims' families have maintained that they are ready to extend all help to the CBI.
"The policemen came and took me to the scene of the crime in the afternoon. The CBI asked me if what I was saying was the truth. I told them they can take a polygraph test, or whatever test they wish to. All I want is justice," a victim's father said.
However, they have also blamed the UP Police for hampering the investigation. "I'm satisfied with the investigation but I hope we get justice. The administration has not been very active. If the administration wants the water can recede and the bodies can be exhumed," the father claimed.
