BRC appeals to chief justice to form committee to end lawyers' strike
Bar Council of Rajasthan has appealed to the chief justice of Rajasthan High Court to constitute a Complaint Redressal Committee in order to resolve the on-going standoff between the bar and the bench.

Bar Council of Rajasthan has appealed to the chief justice of Rajasthan High Court to constitute a Complaint Redressal Committee in order to resolve the on-going standoff between the bar and the bench.

Council has also appealed to the lawyers' associations to call off their strike and resume work, keeping in mind the public and plaintiffs' interests.

Chairman of the council Manoj Kumar Garg said that the Bar Council of India had constituted a three-member committee in order to address the disputed issues being taken up by the advocates in Rajasthan.

This committee had held meetings with the High Court administration and the lawyers' associations in Jaipur and prepared a report on the basis of these meetings.

"This report was handed over to the BCR by the committee on Wednesday. In this, the committee has appealed to the High Court administration to constitute a Complaint Redressal Committee keeping the interests of bar and the bench in mind and solve the contentious issues," said Garg.

But, on the other hand, terming it to be the chairman's individual appeal, the president of the Rajasthan High Court Advocates' Association Ranjeet Joshi said that neither any meeting of the bar council members was called nor any resolution was passed in the BCR before making this appeal.

"We have discussed the matter with our counterparts in Jaipur and different bar associations and have decided to take up the matter in our proposed mahapanchayat scheduled to be held in Jaipur on August 16," said Joshi.
