Boy with rare illness awaits better future

HUBLI: An 11-year-old boy suffering from a rare disease awaits government assistance as under the state health scheme, Vajpayee Arogyashree, he can receive only Rs 2 lakh, including an additional sum of Rs 50,000.However, his complete treatment will cost Rs 6 lakh.Mallikarjun Hadapad, a fourth standard student of Hebasur Government School in Hubli, suffers from the rare arteriovenous congenital malformation, which has enlarged his right hand, while his left hand is normal.His father Shivanand works as a helper in a medical shop and is unable to bear the expenses.The family is looking for assistance to give Mallikarjun a new lease of life.
