The Academy of Music, Chowdaiah Memorial Hall, has drawn up a five-day musical extravaganza.

BANGALORE: The Academy of Music, Chowdaiah Memorial Hall, has drawn up a five-day musical extravaganza from November 23. Well known musicians will be honoured on the concluding day of the festival. Sangeetha Kalanidhi Madurai T N Seshagopalan, Vidwan R N Thyagarajan and Vidwan R N Tharanathan, popularly known as ‘Rudrapatnam Brothers’ have been chosen for ‘Sri K K Murthy Memorial Chowdaiah Award-2011’.

“Seshagopalan will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh while the Rudrapatnam Brothers will together receive Rs1 lakh. As part of the musical extravaganza, technical session on music too will be held from November 24 to 26 between 10 am and 12 pm,” said R Subbaraj Urs, secretary, Academy of Music.

Music lovers will have a big feast on all the five days as well-known senior artistes and budding junior artistes will take part in the programmes. Madurai T N Seshagopalan will present a concert on November 27 while R N Thyagarajan and R N Tharanathan will enthrall the audience on November 25.
