Bangalore: Govt plans foreign training for more cops
The state government plans to increase the number of officers who are sent abroad for training.

Bangalore: “To strengthen policing in Bangalore, the state government is contemplating to take the advice of security experts from other nations and is sending its officers abroad for training,” said Home and Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok during an interaction with Express reporters on Monday. He said, “Policing is a challenging job and the Bangalore police are doing a good work. However, to further strengthen the system we will look at seeking advice from international experts.”

Ashok added that every year, the government plans to increase the number of officers who are sent abroad for training. He said the state commando force personnel of Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) are trained by various paramilitary units.

“We will have 300 highly trained commandos, who will be used for anti-terror and anti-naxal operations. As many as 160 commandos have already completed their training and have been deployed in Bangalore. Another 140 men will be deployed in many places,” he explained.
