New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs has advised all Indians to leave Syria after the US hinted on a possible military attack on the Middle East country.
US President Barack Obama has maintained that the US was contemplating a military intervention to punish Syria's President Bashar al-Assad for a "brutal and flagrant" chemical weapons attack it says killed over thousand people in Damascus 10 days ago.
However Barack Obama has ruled out sending troops to the country. A public report released by US intelligence agencies on Friday estimates over 1400 civilians were killed in the alleged chemical weapons attack. Thousands of Syrians too are fleeing their country.
Obama is expected to use the report to make a case for retaliation against Syria in the UN. Sources indicate the US may use cruise missiles fired from its Navy ships at Syrian command targets.
