BANGALORE: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has found a novel way to get rid of illegal dumping of waste on highways, flyovers and other parts of the city.The civic body has announced Rs 2000 cash prize for informants who alert BBMP about illegal dumping. Deputy Mayor S Harish is allegedly the person behind this idea. BBMP is now taking help of actor turned politician MLC Jaggesh, who informed BBMP control room about illegal dumping waste by three wheeler goods autorickshaw on MKK Road below Railway bridge."Jaggesh is a popular person among his fans. We just want public to follow Jaggesh who has done his duty as a responsible citizen," said Deputy Mayor Harish.Home Minister R Ashok, who will reward Jaggesh on Wednesday said that illegal dumping has become a menace. He said, "Everyday 10,000 tonnes of waste is being dumped on the roads."
