The national general council meeting of All India Youth Federation (AIYF) will be held here from October 10 to 12. Leaders from 25 states will attend the meeting. The council will chalk out agitation programmes for the next six months. As part of the meeting, a POSCO Solidarity Meet will be organised and POSCO agitation leader Abhay Sahu will be accorded a reception under the aegis of the AITUC, AISF and AIYF here.
The meeting will also discuss what it called the failure of apolitical individuals, NGOs and community organisations in their fight against corruption. The meeting will also take decision regarding the organisation’s participation in popular agitations.
The meeting also will discuss issues such as religious fundamentalism, terrorism, unemployment and move by the Central and State Governments to privatise the employment sectors.
